An unreliable narrator, MICHAEL MONTOURE is an indie writer of horror and dark urban fantasy. His obsessions include hidden truths, secret dealings, and the changing and fragile nature of our own pasts. He grew up in a haunted house where he heard footsteps in empty hallways, saw a kettle knocked off a stove and halfway across a room by nothing at all, and watched UFOs burn in the sky out his back window. A fascination with monsters led him to pick up a copy of Stephen King’s Salem’s Lot at the age of seven, and no one thought to take it away from him. After an adolescence filled with crippling and inexplicable anxiety attacks, he started to focus all of his myriad fears and put them down on paper, where he could inflict them on other people instead. He has performed readings at coffee shops in Seattle for over a decade. He lives alone with a gray cat by the edge of Echo Lake, Washington. His short fiction has appeared in the Omnium Gatherum anthology Detritus; in the Doctor Who anthology How the Doctor Changed My Life; and in his own collections, Slices, Counting From Ten and Permanent Damage. He’s standing right behind you.
